IDP Education and Boracay Coco English Academy partner to open the first ever International English Language Testing System (IELTS) on Computer Lab in Boracay Island on March 23, 2024.
The launching event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Ms. Myrna Andres, Officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Immigration – Boracay Field Office, Mr. Rowell Domingo, IDP IELTS Business Development Manager, Mr. Rihwan Park, Owner of Boracay Coco English Academy, and Ms. Naregin Flores, Tourism Operations Assistant from the Department of Tourism Region 6.
An office blessing and facility tour of the lab took place after. Members of the local media and distinguished guests from various industries attended the event and were invited to a firsthand experience of the IELTS on computer familiarization test, wherein they have the chance to take the listening part of the IELTS test.
This partnership between IDP Education, the world-leader in international education and proud co-owner of IELTS, and Boracay Coco English Academy, a leading English language school on Boracay Island, aims to contribute to the Philippines’ prominence as one of the world’s English as Second Language (ESL) Learning Hub and IELTS testing site.
During his speech, Mr. Rihwan Park mentioned that this is a significant milestone for Boracay Coco English Academy, and thanked IDP for the partnership that opens exciting opportunities for high quality English education and encouraging Boracay’s tourism.
“I believe, with this partnership we can attract more international students, who not only want to improve their English, but also experience the beauty of Boracay Island. Meanwhile, Mr. Rowell Domingo highlighted that the new IDP-Boracay Coco English Academy IELTS on Computer Lab marks IDP’s 16th IELTS on Computer lab in the Philippines.
The new IELTS on Computer lab in Boracay is a state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate the ESL program and expand the reach of IELTS testing in the country. It will provide test takers with the convenience of taking the IELTS on computer with faster results delivery, and a more user-friendly testing experience.
